March 26 & 27 2011. 8pm ODC's Studio B, ODC Dance Commons. 3153 17th st San Francisco, CA
Pilot 58 Artist Bianca Cabrera presents SLAM, a dance dramedy about industry, rigor and an accidental uprising. A trio of tireless workers wedged between the daily grind and their own obsessive compulsions are stuck in a shrinking world. Can they become heroes with a lackluster arsenal of dumb luck and coincidence? Curated by the ODC School and the ODC Theater, the Pilot Program encourages up and coming choreographers by providing a perfromance venue and a framework for self-production and promotion. Other Pilot 58 artists include Byb Chanel Bibene, Katharine Hawthorne, Erica Rose Jeffrey, Ashley Johnson-Trottier and Raisa Punkki.

LevyDance| Our Body Remembers
Our Body Remembers explores the ancestral inteligence hidden in our bodies that follows us through our modern times. Artistic Director Benjamin Levy looks through the lens of his Persian Jweish heritage to see what of his ancestry remains in his body. Using the spiraling pathways of ethnic Persian dance as a springboard, Levy creates a landscape that blends the traditional and contemporary to explore what family and community mean to us in an age of homogeny and access. Our Body Remembers is accompanied by the eastern fusion of rhythm and ambience of San Francisco duo, Kardash.

CLUTCH brings their cartoon wonderland of delightfully outrageous dance characters to the Bay Area! The protagonists are paranoid mosquitoes, highly disorganized gaggles of girls, pseudo super heroes and one little red corvette. Boxing matches, shadow puppet competitions, thumb wars and fits of obsessive scratching lead to explosive and bizarre dances. Clutch (hang on) is a dance medley of strange and screwball situations bringing the levity of make believe to anxiety, rivalry and delusions of grandeur.

A Glimmer of Hope or skin or light
(March - May 2010)
Commissioned by ACT Theatre's Central Heating Lab, Presented by ACT, Seattle Art Museum and Lingo
In 2006, KT began investigating the relationship between audience and artist with the primary goal of creating a more tangible intimacy between the two. This search has lead her to seek out more potent environments that ask the performer and the witness to confront each other as unique individuals who bring to the exchange their personal histories and desires. A Glimmer of Hope or Skin or Light, in all its forms, is an outcropping of this search.
